Curry and Wall put on a show, reigning champs win 8th in a row

Fans piled in the Verizon Center on Wednesday night as the Golden State Warriors visited the Nation’s capital in hopes of a good show and that is exactly what took place here at the phone booth. A high scoring showdown that would go in favor of the reigning champions, 134-121. The series of runs in this game kept fans on the edge of their seats the entire night.

Although Golden State came out victorious, both Stephen Curry and John Wall had outstanding nights. Curry finished the game with 51 points and 7 rebounds while Wall finished the game with 41 points and 10 rebounds. Both franchise floor generals displayed their will to win, in the end Steph got a bit more help than John. Draymond Green would record another triple-double, with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists. While Klay Thompson didn’t have the greatest of shooting nights, his 24 points played a factor in the win.

From the opening tip of the game, the Curry show was in full effect. Coming off a rough offensive night, it was imperative that Curry come out strong and get a good offensive flow early in the game. Spectators say Curry was out on the court at 10 am perfecting that nearly perfect jump shot of his. With that in mind, the league MVP scored a whopping 27 points in the first quarter to set the tone for his team.

Not to be outdone by the reigning MVP Stephen Curry, John Wall put on a show in front of a national audience. The former number one pick showed everyone just how talented he is as he’s often overlooked, even while playing in a big media market. Wall shot 17 of 25 from the floor while adding 10 assists and receiving little to no help. However, even Wall’s huge night was not enough to stop the champs from coming out with the victory.

As the Golden State Warriors continue their road trip in the Nation’s Capital, they met the President earlier today to be honored for their NBA title. The Warriors will also host Oklahoma City on Saturday, as will the Wizards host Philadelphia on Friday.
